Artist Biography

To Wan Yuanyuan, wool is another form of pigment and canvas. Using her hands as brushes and wool as her medium, she integrates her profound painting skills and aesthetic sensibility into the very weave of the fibers, engaging in a form of warm, Crossover creation—a gentle encounter between art and craft.

She specializes in composite techniques such as hand-stitching, hand-painting, needle felting, and wet felting, "painting" life onto soft wool. From the tranquil poetry of plants and flowers to the vivid charm of beloved pets… her mission is to crystallize those touching, precious moments into visible, tangible eternity—transforming them into warm art that can accompany you for years to come.

Painting with wool, entirely handcrafted and customized, she enables unique emotional memories to transcend the limits of time and space. Wherever your gaze falls, her art stays with you, growing alongside you.

Artisan Philosophy

Our chief artist Wan follows not just technical traditions, but a complete creative philosophy.

1.Traditional Three-Layer Felting | Traditional Three-Layer Felting

The Core Layer: Uses undyed, raw wool in a unique cross-hatch pattern to build the artwork's "skeleton," ensuring it remains stable for decades.

The Texture Layer | The Texture Layer: Applies wool of varying textures and colors according to the natural growth direction of fur and muscle structure, creating a sense of life's flow and strength.

The Soul Layer | The Soul Layer: The final layer uses the finest wool and needles to capture the most subtle details - like the delicate wrinkles around the eyes or the moist texture of a nose. This is key to instilling the piece with its spirit.

2. The Breathing Needle Technique | The Breathing Needle Technique

This is Wan's signature method. By controlling the depth, frequency, and rhythm of each needle punch, the wool fibers retain just the right amount of air as they entangle. The result is a subtle, approximately 0.5mm undulation, often crafted over the chest area—not a true pulse, but a powerful suggestion of life, as if the piece might stir with the next breath.

3. Capturing Life's 'Punctum' | Capturing Life's 'Punctum'

In her view, the highest form of artistry isn't perfect visual replication, but capturing that one poignant detail—the "punctum"—that pierces the heart and evokes deep resonance. It might be the unique chip in a pet's front tooth, or its characteristic, eager posture while waiting for you. Through in-depth conversations, he finds this "punctum" and immortalizes it.
